The Syrian Ministry of Economy and Trade said on Wednesday it had allowed the import of olive oil produced in the occupied territories of Palestine. Tishrin newspaper reported licenses would be given after a check on production license of origin.

Syria permitted earlier this year the purchase of 10,000 tons of apples imported from the occupied Golan via the United Nations in response to demand of the Syrian farmers living there. The move was to help those farmers as to deal with a surplus in apple production.
