Stocks worldwide down after weeks of gains on Wall Street, China stocks rally
ALBAWABA – Stocks worldwide diverged on Tuesday ahead of the release of new economic data from the United States (US), with Asian and European stocks sliding and US stocks up, as gold prices hovered near a six-month high.
Major European and Asian stock markets mostly fell for a second session running Tuesday as traders booked profits, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Elsewhere, stocks worldwide, including in New York, made solid gains in recent weeks on hopes that the Federal Reserve is finished with rate hikes and will cut borrowing rates next year as inflation cools.
Meanwhile, the US dollar was headed for its steepest monthly drop in a year while Treasuries steadied, according to Bloomberg.
The Stoxx 600 fell 0.3 percent and US futures also pointed toward a weaker open.
After four straight weeks of gains in New York, "today's price action, resembled a tired market," said Briefing.com analyst Patrick O'Hare, as reported by AFP.

On the other hand, gold prices rallied on Monday to a six-month high, breaching the $2,017 threshold, slipping slightly on Tuesday, only to regain much of the day’s losses, at $2,015.32 per once.
By 1507 Amman Time, gold prices had made $0.9 on the ounce, marking little to no change for the day, according to GoldPrice.org, at $2,015.23, down $0.11 per ounce.
