Scanit of Belgium, a leader in network security auditing, and training has established its first presence in the Middle East by launching a regional office headquartered at the Dubai Internet City (DIC). The office will cover Scanit operations in the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) countries as well as the Levant area and Egypt.

“We believe that the Middle East market is advancing rapidly in terms of technology adoption and usage,” said CEO of Scanit, David Michaux “Security auditing services are key to this in the region, as network security threats become more significant for mission critical business environments, governments, educational institutes and small to medium enterprises.”

Scanit's plans for the short run are to develop a series of strategic partnerships and alliances across the region that will help position the company's security services with government bodies, telecommunication companies and small and medium enterprises throughout the Middle East.

Scanit's Dubai Internet City (DIC) office will be complimented by a technically heavy group of security engineers, direct sales staff and channel management infrastructure, and will house a state of the art secure environment, for delivery of secure auditing services to the market.

Scanit started life as a Belgacom (Belgium Telecom) initiative at the beginning of 1999. The initial mission for Scanit was to assess the security of the Belgacom Group networks in order to protect against internal and external threats. This was a critical mission as Belgacom has a complex technical infrastructure. — (menareport.com)
