The Saudi Western Bakeries company, manufacturing and distributing varied bread and baked good brands, has recently announced it had completed the expansion project of its Jeddah factory. Operating since 1995, the company invested more than 100 million Saudi riyals ($26.6 million) in this project, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat

The plant was enlarged to span 12,000 square meters, allowing for the installation of modern automated production lines. The company, which is part of Omran Al-Omran corporation, now hopes to control a larger segment of the Saudi market.

The Jeddah plant currently has a 25,000 per hour capacity for its bread & bun production line and an 8,000 per hour capacity on both its cake line and on pastry line. Western Bakeries’ distribution network delivers more than 80 sales routes throughout the kingdom, with a fleet including 95 delivery vans, 10 medium-sized vehicles and 10 heavy vehicles. — (Mena Report)
