The Saudi Iranian Joint Committee will meet in Tehran tomorrow for the fourth time. The meeting will chaired by the Saudi Minister of Commerce, Osama Faqih, and his Iranian counterpart, Mohammed Shariatemdary, reported Al-Watan . The committee will discuss ways of boosting bilateral exchanges and investments.
Official statistics receal that the value of exchanges between Iran and Saudi Arabia hit 498 million Saudi Riyals ($132 million) in 2000 compared with SR 355 million in 1999. There are currently 14 existing Saudi-Iranian joint projects with a total invested capital of SR 1.064 billion, of which 29.8 is in Saudi shares and 28.1 percent are Iranian shares with the rest belonging to other partner investors. — (menareport.com)
