ALBAWABA – A new venture in collaboration between the United States’ SpaceKnow and Saudi Arabia, dubbed SpaceGuardian has laid grounds in the kingdom’s Alkobar, aimed at using Artificial Intelligence to advance space satellite imagery, the first of its kind to be approved.
By applying machine learning AI to satellite photos, SpaceGuardian specializes in facilitating commercial operations, commodities and energy analysis, environmental evaluations, building progress monitoring, and more.
The New York firm, SpaceKnow, as reported by Zawya, claims that its state-of-the-art technology enables real-time building endeavor monitoring, providing periodic reports on development and safety factors through ongoing examination of satellite data combined with machine learning capabilities.
During the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC 2024) recently concluded in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, CEO and Co-Founder of SpaceKnow, Jerry Javornicky, signed the joint venture agreement with Majid Alghaslan, Chairman & CEO of Front End Limited Company, setting the cornerstone for SpaceGuardian.
Alghaslan commented on the firm launch: "The historic launch of SpaceGuardian marks a pivotal moment for the entire technological and industrial landscape of Saudi Arabia. As the inaugural company dedicated to satellite imagery and AI analysis, this partnership embraces innovation and progress that will propel Saudi Arabia into a new era of digital transformation.”
Javornicky, on the other hand, said: “We aim to revolutionise the AI-powered geospatial analytics market and to bring our technology to multiple sectors, starting with infrastructure monitoring, carbon sequestration, and security applications,” adding about the partnership “for us, collaborating with Majid was the ideal way to enter Saudi Arabia.”
