Satyam awarded Qatari contract

Salam International Investment Limited (Q.S.C), a multi-diversified group of companies and Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE: SAY), a leading global consulting and information technology services company announced the signing of an ambitious and complex contract - an Oracle implementation project spanning Oracle Financials to Business Intelligence and Balance Scorecard. The implementation shall provide the top management of Salam International with a complete overview of the operations on dashboards and close financial books of accounts with ease. Under the terms of the contract, the project shall be implemented in 18 months and cover all of Salam International’s subsidiaries in Qatar.

 

The solution will address the business challenges of disparate systems with distributed data and will deliver immense value to SIIL on completion. Online integration of finance with business systems, and the need for standardization of business processes were the other major business challenges which SIIL is facing and the solution will address these by providing a single integrated platform to all users to ensure that the strategic objective are monitored and met, year on year.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hussam Abdul Salam Abu Issa, Vice Chairman & COO, Salam International, said: “Satyam was chosen as our Partner for the Oracle Implementation project for excelling in competence and past experience in this field globally and especially in the Middle East. The project shall enhance the automation of Salam International’s business processes along its subsidiaries (Qatar and outside). It shall maintain data integrity and consistency ensure the availability of data for all users at different levels and the timely managerial reporting. It should provide better business information for effective decision-making.”

 

The implementation is one of a series of projects that compose the change management program at SIIL, where renowned international consultants have been selected for the different projects. Satyam’s vast and varied experience in implementing in large diversified group of companies made it the perfect choice for the needs of Salam International. Additionally, Satyam’s implementation success due to strong project management skills and large number of certified consultants helped clinch the deal in Satyam’s favor. Currently Satyam is engaged in more than 7 large projects in Qatar, and as a part of its commitment to the region Satyam had set up a direct office in Qatar to cater to local customers and provide them with world-class solutions.
