UK-based advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi has been awarded several new international brand-building assignments by the US-based General Mills, previously handled by Leo Burnett. Starting November 2002, Saatchi & Saatchi will begin work on the new brand assignments in the markets of Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Central America, Caribbean and South Africa.

The agency currently handles a variety of General Mills cereal brands across 44 countries. Among the international brands moving to Saatchi & Saatchi are Pillsbury, Green Giant, Old El Paso, Betty Crocker, Latina (chilled pasta), Frescarini (chilled pasta) and La Saltena (chilled dough).

“Saatchi & Saatchi was awarded these brands based on its strong creative and strategic capabilities and its proven performance in driving growth of General Mills' international cereal business,” said Samir Behl, marketing vice president of General Mills.

Saatchi & Saatchi's global marketing and creative communications network includes 138 offices in 82 countries and annual billings of almost seven billion dollars. Among the agency's list of multinational clients are Toyota, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, General Mills and Eastman Kodak. — (menareport.com)
