Sales of the prestigious Jaguar flagship XJ model have increased in the Middle East by 24 per cent for the month of February compared to the same month in 2004.
Andy Gawthorpe, Director, Jaguar Middle East & North Africa, said that the XJ record sales were a testament to the growing demand for the performance, luxury and advanced technology features of the flagship model. The XJ was last year awarded the Best Luxury Car for the second consecutive year at the prestigious What Car? Car of the Year Awards in the UK.
Gawthorpe added: “We are delighted that more and more Middle East customers are appreciating and enjoying our cars, especially the flagship model. The arrival late last year of the XJ Long Wheel Base (LWB), which offers even more space, luxury and comfort than the standard XJ model, had created additional interest in the vehicle.
Apart from being the longest wheel base and overall length in its class, the XJ Long wheelbase version is also the lightest, with a minimal weight increase of just 24kg. Fully competitive with other cars in its category for front leg- and rear headroom, and comparable with the best-in-class for rear accommodation, the XJ LWB has an impressive 999mm (more than 39 inches) of legroom.
XJ’s advanced communications technologies include a seven-inch LCD touch screen display that provides fingertip control of climate, audio and DVD navigation systems, TV tune and front/rear fixed GSM phones.
“Whether you need to work or relax on the move, the rear seat of the New XJ Long Wheelbase is a great place to be in. It is spacious and luxurious, and features a number of multi-media options, LCD screens which can be incorporated into the front-seat headrests and fold-down Business Trays,” added Gawthorpe.
