Emirates Neon, the market leaders in signage and advertising in the region, crossed another milestone by completing in record time the new extension project to East and West wings of Khalifa Stadium (part of The Sport City Project) in Doha, Qatar, which is getting ready for the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006. The Khalifa Stadium will have FIA and OICC approved football field with state-of-the-art communication, recreation facilities.

Being a leading regional provider of one-stop and multi-format customized solutions in signage and advertising, Emirates Neon had the necessary technical expertise and know-how to complete this prestigious project (which involved over 5500 different types of signs and graphics) in a record time of four months. The Khalifa Stadium, the first Olympic Stadium in Qatar, is being renovated to accommodate about 60,000 spectators, as part of the preparations for Asian Games 2006.

“The new extension on the eastern and western wings of the Khalifa Stadium, which has already become one of the leading international venues for major sporting events, will assert Emirates Neon’s top-ranking position and once again reiterate its regional reputation in the signage and advertising industry,” said Mr. Rehan Merchant, Executive Director, Emirates Neon.

“This is the second project undertaken by Emirates Neon in Qatar following the successful completion and commissioning of the Ritz Carlton, Doha project, which involved over 2,100 different types of signs,” said Mr. Rehan Merchant.

“The company already had established itself as a regional force back in 1996 when it executed a project at the Grand Hyatt, Muscat. With its established reputation in the GCC markets, Emirates Neon is moving ahead with unbridled optimism and is expected to witness an unprecedented growth this year too,” Mr. Merchant added.
