Qatar Telecom (Q-Tel) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Danish telecommunications company TDC with respect to potential future cooperation.
Q-Tel has decided to expand its operations outside of Qatar and wishes in that context to partner with an industrial player with proven international experience. The agreement with TDC is intended to support the strategies of both parties in relation to international investments.
TDC and Qtel are already working together in connection with the second public mobile license in Oman and a JV investment company is under establishment for investments in the telecommunication industry.
TDC has over the past ten years made significant international investments in existing and green-field operations in Europe. Today, more than half of TDC’s revenue originates from international operations. TDC wishes to continue its internationalization by strengthening its investments and expand its business in other Northern and Central European markets.
It is in this context that Q-Tel and TDC have entered into an MoU. Both sides have agreed to explore possibilities for cooperation on a case by case basis in each others geographic areas utilizing core competences of each of two companies with TDC as the leading company in its geographic area and visa versa. — (menareport.com)
