Middle East online marketplace Tejari has honored a number of private enterprises as well as government departments with awards for their level of activity on the marketplace. In total, Tejari honored 10 organizations for the commitment they demonstrated to online procurement during the GITEX 2003 exhibition.

Of the 10 awards presented by Tejari's CEO, Shaikha Lubna Al-Qasimi, four were presented to organizations that were also recognized at last year's ceremony. The four departments returning to the winner's circle included Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Police General Headquarters and Dubai Municipality.

Another organization to scoop an award was Emirates Airline. Tejari honored the Dubai-based carrier for having the greatest amount of international suppliers trading on the marketplace.

From the private sector, Al-Futtaim Group was honored for being the Most Committed Supplier and Ashoka Electrical and Mechanical Equipment Company took home the Most Active Supplier award.

Additionally, Oracle Corporation was recognized for being Tejari's best technology partner, and the Juma Al-Majid Group was recognized for having the most active group of companies.

Visitors to GITEX can learn firsthand about the business benefits that Tejari offers its trading partners at the Tejari stand in Hall 6, stand # C6-1.

Tejari enables buyers and sellers to transact and share information about a variety of goods and services via a secured Internet environment. Tejari provides a single point of contact for an open and growing community of buyers and suppliers, permitting spot-purchasing and on-line auctions that enable participants' real-time access to new markets and greater cost savings. — (menareport.com)
