The price of sheep in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rose to unexpected levels during the current pilgrimage season, reported Al-Hayat. The price per head now ranges from 950 Saudi Riyals ($235) to SR 1,200 ($320). Market sources related this price the rise in demand for slaughtered by pilgrims. In addition, local livestock companies raised their prices in order to offset losses incurred last year due to cattle disease. — (menareport.com)
