Wyndham rewards revolutionises loyalty landscape with easier ato free nights

Tired of overly complicated hotel loyalty programmes? Sick of never getting that free night stay you deserve? Get ready to join the new Wyndham Rewards®: a re-imagined hotel loyalty programme that’s simple to understand, easy to use, and that dollar for dollar, lets members earn more and redeem faster than any other programme in the industry. 

Launching to consumers globally on 11 May 2015, under the tagline “You’ve Earned ThisTM,” the new Wyndham Rewards programme bucks the travel industry trends of devalued points and confusing rewards categories and offers members a generous points earning structure and a flat, free night redemption rate – the first of its kind for a major rewards programme.

Among the programme’s core features:

The “Go FreeSM” award: With just 15,000 points, members can redeem a free night at any of the programme’s more than 7,500 hotels globally with no blackout dates.

The “Go FastSM” award: Members who want to redeem their points sooner or stay longer for less can book a night at available hotels for just 3,000 points plus cash.

More points for faster rewards: For every qualified stay, members now earn 10 points for every dollar spent or a minimum of 1,000 points per stay, whichever is more.

“Primary research tells us that 89 percent of travellers want to redeem their points for a free hotel night and that more than half feel that the majority of rewards feel unattainable,” said Josh Lesnick, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Wyndham Hotel Group. “The new Wyndham Rewards programme addresses these sentiments head-on. Whether it’s the family’s annual summer holiday or an unexpected stay out of town, our new programme makes it easy for members to earn the points they need, understand what they have earned, and redeem their points for rewards they actually want.”

Beginning on 11 May 2015, members will see their existing points automatically transferred into the new programme. Following the launch of the programme, a new updated mobile app will be launched to provide a simpler, more streamlined member experience. Finally, new and updated world-class elite membership tiers for the programme’s most loyal members are expected to roll-out later this year.

To launch the re-imagined programme, Wyndham Rewards has invested in a multi-million dollar advertising campaign starring actor Kristofer Hivju, consisting of TV commercials, print, radio and digital, which will roll out throughout the United States starting on 11 May, with elements of the campaign launching in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean shortly thereafter.
