University of Dubai holds training course for new DEWA employees

The Center for Management & Professional Development (CMPD) at the University of Dubai (UD) trained employees last week from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) on customer service techniques.
Twenty new Emirati recruits learned how better to help customers in a 12-day Certified Business Professional™ Program at the University of Dubai.
Maha Ali Awadh, a student in the course, said, “We learned a lot of information that will help us to be experts in customer service and the instructor was very knowledgeable.”
The Certified Business Professional Program that UD offers is an international industry credential that validates and develops the business professional. A typical candidate is a professional in pursuit of excellence and is committed to exceeding and surpassing all standards for the business professional.
“The course taught us not only how to deal with clients’ problems over the phone,” Student Maryam Abdullah Mohammed said, “but also how to create long-term solutions for our customers.”
Usha Kaul, Manager, CMPD at University of Dubai said, “CMPD has been transforming lives and careers for more than five years now and we have trained more than 2,500 individuals, many of whom have moved on and are now holding senior positions in their organizations and making significant contributions in the realm of business. The Center is also concerned with the development of the UAE’s national workforce and provides specific work-oriented training programs for this segment of society. Our trainers are faculty and industry experts who are academically and professionally qualified so students are assured of a rewarding learning experience.”
The CBP program strives to develop professional knowledge as well as important life-skills that transcend the work environment into other aspects of living.
Dr. Omar Hefni, President, University of Dubai said, “We are honored to deliver this important training course to one of the government’s key agencies. UD’s management development programs are designed to help keep our workforce not only on-par with global standards, but in many cases, above those standards.”
