University of Dubai announces participation in International Education Show 2011

The University of Dubai (UD) announces its participation in the International Education Show, the UAE’s premier and most comprehensive higher education platform, which will run from 12^th to 14^th October at the Expo Centre Sharjah.

The institution will showcase its world-class academic programs and services to potential students, post graduates, parents, researchers, academic faculty and career professionals. As one of the leading institutions in the country, UD welcomes, encourages and supports individuals who desire to be business leaders regardless of their origin.

Dr M. Omar Hefni, President of UD said: “We are pleased to announce our participation in this year’s International Education Show. Students who are seeking to pursue higher studies will be presented with a wide selection of opportunities. The curriculum of the university follows the American system of education. In line with this objective, the  Computing and Information Systems degree program offered by the College of Information Technology is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET since October 2006.

The College of Business Administration is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International since April 2009.  Only 5% of business schools worldwide hold this prestigious international accreditation. 

These two international accreditations position UD as the first university to be accredited for business and information technology programs among private universities recognized by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to earn both international accreditations. UD is licensed by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The International Education show is a joint initiative of the UAE Ministry of Education and Expo Centre Sharjah and is supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). It is the UAE's most comprehensive platform that showcases a range of opportunities in higher education from both within and outside the country.
