SUBWAY Bahrain, part of the world’s largest submarine sandwich franchise, today reviewed its 2011 performance and outlined its expansion plans for 2012 at an exclusive media roundtable that was headlined by Omar Bukhowa, Development Agent for SUBWAY Bahrain.

Held at the SUBWAY Development Agent’s office in Al Seef District in Bahrain, the event offered select local media an overview of the activities spearheaded by SUBWAYÒ Bahrain over the past year and included an opportunity to network with the regional development agent on various points of interest and related industry issues.

In 2010, SUBWAY restaurants opened doors to two stores, confirming the brand’s consistent growth since its introduction to the Bahrain market in 2001. The expansion comes as an organic progression to the increasing demand for healthy food options that SUBWAY restaurants are reputed to serve.

Omar Bukhowa said: “SUBWAYhas come to be regarded as a restaurant of choice for the people of Bahrain, across all age segments and nationalities. While on one hand we are delighted with the strong growth trend, we are also happy that our success reflects well on the increasing importance that is being given to healthy eating in Bahrain.”

SUBWAY outlets are located in Hoora, Seef Mall, Bahrain City Center Mall, Sanad, Jaffair, Bahrain Mall, Hamala, Tubli, Muharraq, Ramli Mall and Lulu Riffa.

The SUBWAY chain recently became the largest submarine sandwich franchise in the Arab world with more than 250 restaurants in some of the most important locations. It currently boasts more than 110 stores in the UAE, 50 in Kuwait, 47 in Saudi Arabia, 15 in Qatar, 11 in Bahrain, 9 in Oman, 8 in Jordan, four in Egypt and five in Lebanon
