Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, announced that it recently conducted evacuation drills at its headquarters in Assima Tower. The drills were carried out in collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior and the Emergency Medical Services Department at the Ministry of Health, with the participation of the Company's employees, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance workforce readiness and raise awareness of safety procedures during emergency situations.
The evacuation drills were conducted in the presence of representatives from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, who oversaw the implementation of the Company's evacuation plan and assessed its compliance with the regulations and standards adopted by the relevant authorities. The drills aimed to ensure the safety and preparedness of employees under emergency and unforeseen circumstances while reinforcing stc’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
In a statement, stc indicated that conducting the evacuation drills form an integral part of its risk management strategy, through which the Company is committed to implementing all civil defense requirements and enhancing emergency preparedness measures. This includes appointing trained employee coordinators on each floor to supervise evacuation procedures, ensuring the readiness of entrances and exits, installing directional signage, and maintaining safety systems such as alarm devices, a PA system, water hoses, and smoke detection equipment.
The Company further stated that its emergency preparedness framework also includes identifying designated assembly points and emergency routes, in addition to conducting periodic training sessions and first aid awareness programs for employees. These measures reflect stc’s commitment to adopting proactive practices that prioritize the safety and well-being of its employees while ensuring business continuity under various circumstances.
