Travelers arriving at Qatar’s Hamad International Airport on the eve of mid-Ramadan were greeted with a Garangao celebration hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority at the Airport’s Arrivals Hall.

The short-term visitors were treated to a taste of Qatari heritage through a vending machine dispensing free traditional Garangao gift bags of nuts and candy, as well as a short video introducing the celebration and its significance in Qatari culture.

QTA also organized Garangao activities for visitors and residents already inside Qatar at Souq Waqif and Doha Exhibition Centre, drawing large crowds of children and adults alike through giveaways and a Garangao instant photo booth.

“Despite the fast-paced growth Qatar is witnessing, it is a country with deep cultural roots, and our Garangao celebrations are an important way of sharing our unique local traditions with visitors and residents alike,” commented Saif Al Kuwari, PR and Communication Director at QTA. “We were delighted to include visitors in our celebrations with generous support from our partners at Souq Waqif and Hamad International Airport.”
