Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with AUB

Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education (PUE) and the American University of Beirut (AUB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together on developing teachers, strengthening school leadership, and promoting innovation in K–12 education.

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in professional development, diploma and certification programs, joint research, and other educational initiatives for educators, in line with international standards and national education priorities.

Under this Memorandum, the partners will collaborate on diploma and certification programs, organize conferences and workshops, conduct joint research, and develop training and practical learning opportunities within the Qatar Foundation’s (QF) Pre-University Education ecosystem.

During the signing ceremony, Abeer Al Khalifa, president of QF’s PUE, said, "The signing of this cooperation agreement between AUB and PUE represents an important step that reflects our shared vision that the development of education begins with building strong institutional partnerships across the Arab world. These partnerships strengthen the capacities of both our students and teachers, keep pace with global transformations, and enhance the quality of educational outcomes."

She added, "The collaboration between QF and AUB has been a well-established tradition over the years, and this agreement provides a practical framework to deepen and expand this historic relationship. We are confident that this cooperation will have a tangible impact on both sides, opening promising horizons for knowledge exchange and community support through distinguished educational initiatives grounded in best practices and standards."

Dr. Fadlo Khuri, AUB president, said, "Our partnership with the State of Qatar stems from a shared belief that every child in the Arab world deserves a high-quality education, and that collaboration between our institutions is the path to a true Arab renaissance."

Dr. Zaher Dawy, AUB provost, said, "Qatar Foundation and AUB share a common mission to build a brighter future for the Arab world through education and the empowerment of skilled, creative, and locally rooted human capital."

Dr. Imad Baalbaki, senior vice president for advancement and business development at AUB, said, "We are proud of our relationship with Qatar Foundation, which spans decades, and with the State of Qatar, which dates back to 1977 with the establishment of the State of Qatar Chair for Energy Studies. We look forward to further strengthening this relationship."
