Ooredoo, the fastest network in Kuwait, celebrated the national holidays with hundreds of visitors of Murouj Market, a monthly weekend market for local entrepreneurs and businesses.  Ooredoo held several activities related to its national holidays song, performed by famous singer Balqees, in addition to distributing Kuwaiti flags and holding kids activities and competition. The event also included a performance by Dayem Al-Saif band for traditional and folklore music.

The market includes local farm produce, artisanal food products and crafts, with a ‘street food’ section aimed at highlighting the culinary diversity of Kuwait’s local food community. The market also offers a section dedicated for children’s activities. It will be held on weekends, and is ongoing from March 2017. The next market is scheduled to take place in March.

In a statement about this participation, Ooredoo Kuwait stressed its commitment to supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs, especially through this engaging project. This sponsorship comes in tandem with the company’s social responsibility strategy, which in turn is based on the core values of Ooredoo, of caring, connecting and challenging.

Ooredoo’s special song for Kuwait’s national holidays reached 3 million views on YouTube within one week of its launch. The song also placed in the top 3 trends on Twitter and YouTube. Entitled “What’s Your Story?” (#قصتكم_شنو), the song is performed by the famous singer Balqees and features talk show personality Abla Fahita.  The song was written by lyricist Saad Al-Musailem, is composed by Fahad Al-Nasser and directed by Ahmed Al-Najjar.

The video clip of the song features a unique performance by well-known Egyptian puppet character Abla Fahita, who received nationwide recognition for her satirical talk show in which she humorously tackles trending social and political issues.  The video also features well-known social media influencers such as Yaqoub Boushahri, Hessa Al-Loughani, Louluah Al-Aslawi, Hessa and Munirah Al-Kulaib, and the Kuwait National Television Music Band.
