Omanoil supports third King’s Tournament in Muscat

As part of its ongoing efforts to cultivate the capabilities of youth, Oman Oil Marketing Company (omanoil) recently sponsored the 3rd King’s Tournament in Muscat, a football competition that brought together 24 teams from all across Muscat to compete in a month-long competition. This initiative falls in line with the company’s long term commitment towards bolstering and developing the national talent pool to create a better Oman.
Al Moatasam Al Amri, Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility Executive, at omanoil, said, “Sharing the nation’s passion for football, we at omanoil chose to sponsor the King’s Tournament in another step towards enriching the lives of our youth and nurturing their sports skills. We believe that this tournament acts as platform to instil local talent with the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and courage that are at the heart of the beautiful game. The lessons they learned from this tournament, which include overcoming challenges and adversity through unity, will serve our footballers far beyond the pitch and inspire their personal development as individuals and build characters of tomorrow’s leaders.”
With its efforts centered on youth engagement and development, omanoil's football initiatives exposed young Omanis to a multitude of disciplines in a driven and supportive environment. These initiatives include the establishment of omanoil Football School, sponsoring the Football Association’s Youth tournament and the omanoil Football Tournament for Muscat Schools, an initiative launched in association with the Ministry of Education. The company also served as the Gold Sponsor of the 2014 Oman Legends Cup, which featured stars from world-renowned football clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid in a head-to-head match at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Boshar.
