NBO Supports Dar Al Hanan by Rennovating Child Cancer Patients Play Area

Continuing to create real value in the communities it serves, National Bank of Oman (NBO) has undertaken the full refurbishment of the children’s playroom at the Oman Cancer Association’s (OCA) Dar Al Hanan centre. The project is the latest in a decade-long partnership between NBO and Dar Al Hanan, which provides accommodation and transport for child cancer patients and their families coming to Muscat for medical treatment.
Sherifa Al Maskeri, Head of Brand at NBO, said, “As Oman’s national bank, we see ourselves as an integral part of society, and strive to find more ways to support our community. Building on our work with Dar Al Hanan, we decided to take on this project to provide the children staying there with a nice place to play and enjoy a little reprieve from their treatment. Meanwhile, we continue to work closely with our teams, partners, and the government so that we can channel our support where it is most needed.”
Through its active Corporate Social Responsibility programme, NBO continues to fulfil its commitment to giving back to the community. Its activities, which are carried out throughout the year, include a range of educational and youth-led programmes, donations and sponsorships, all aimed at contributing to the betterment of society and particularly, those in need. Earlier this year the bank was also awarded by the Ministry of Social Development for its continuous work supporting people with disabilities in Oman.
