Nawras Goodwill Journey visits families in Al Buraimi

Nawras Goodwill Journey messengers helped families in Wilayat Mahadha, Governorate of Al Buraimi by supporting a series of income generating projects organised by the Omani Women’s Association and Ministry of Social Development. Nawras volunteers provided cooking equipment, home appliances, sewing machines and televisions for the family homes of those assisted by the association’s community programmes.
Sheikha Al Suraihi, President of the Omani Women’s Association in Mahadha, said, “The donations from Nawras will dramatically improve the quality of life for all the people who rely upon our services. We are committed to enhancing local opportunities by developing sustainable projects that benefit the people and the incredible generosity from Nawras allows the association to immediately make a difference to many lives in the community.”
Mohammed Al Balushi, resident of Al Buraimi and visitor to the Omani Women’s Association, was overwhelmed to see the Nawras Goodwill Journey messengers arrive. Hesaid, “I am truly thankful for the kind donations, my house is now a home with the equipment to cook and clean properly. The household items donated meet our daily needs and requirements and we feel truly blessed to be chosen by the Nawras Goodwill Journey.”
As part of this year’s theme of ‘Multaqeen’, meaning ‘we will see you again’, Nawras Goodwill Journey messengers will return to Al Buraimi in a few months’ time to check on the progress of the programmes. Multaqeen is the promise to the community from Nawras to ensure projects are implemented and deliver long term benefits to each Governorate the Journey visits this year.
Today, the Nawras Goodwill Journey will visit Ibri and Adam to make life easier for members of the community with physical disabilities. Nawras will donate new equipment to provide more opportunities, greater independence and improve the quality of life for those with decreased mobility.
This year’s journey of generosity and compassion will travel over 5400 kilometres to touch the lives of over 1000 people as fasting volunteers bring joy to communities across Oman.
