Muzn, National Bank of Oman’s (NBO) Islamic banking window, recently won the Most Innovative Islamic Window award at the Islamic Banking and Finance Summit 2022.

Muzn, National Bank of Oman’s (NBO) Islamic banking window, recently won the Most Innovative Islamic Window award at the Islamic Banking and Finance Summit 2022. The accolade is a tribute to Muzn’s innovative and Shari’a-compliant financial solutions and state-of-the-art digital platforms, including a mobile app and Corporate Internet Banking, as it aims to continuously create an exceptional customer experience. 

Aimed to highlight the current growth of Islamic banking, the Islamic Banking and Finance event was held by Alam Al-Iktisaad Wal A’mal (AIWA) under the patronage of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) and brought together leaders in Islamic banking. His Excellency Tahir Al Amri, Executive President of CBO gave the keynote address. Discussed topics included digital transformation, sukuk and takaful, Islamic FinTech and crowdfunding, to name but a few. Meanwhile, AIWA awards recognised top achievers in Oman’s corporate world. Salima Al Marzouqi, Assisting General Manager and Chief Islamic Banking Officer, at NBO Muzn Islamic Banking took part in the summit’s panel discussion titled: ‘The Future of Islamic Banking, Finance and Islamic FinTech’.

Salima Al Marzouqi said: “As Oman’s first Islamic banking window, we are committed to our customer-centric approach and digital transformation to provide the best
Shari’a-compliant financial services. We continue to combine technology, innovation and analytics, while always safeguarding the principles of our customers.” She added, “All of this is set against a backdrop of a national Islamic finance industry that continues to flourish ever since the Central Bank of Oman issued the Islamic Banking Regulatory Framework in 2012. As a result, our industry is now playing its part in the Oman’s economic growth and diversification.”

This is not the first time that NBO’s Muzn Islamic Banking Window has been recognised for its efforts in innovation and digital transformation, as it continues to hold a leading position in driving the sector’s growth.
