Musabih inaugurates “Dubai Customs Knowledge Club” with 2,400 books

Following the vision and directives of the UAE government in encouraging reading at all government departments, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs inaugurated “Dubai Customs Knowledge Club” in the presence of the Department’s executive managers.
The new club has 2,400 books of different topics including human development, economy, positivity and happiness. It will be an interactive platform where employees meet and exchange ideas, plus numerous events that will take place in the club to encourage reading.
Commenting on the inauguration Musabih said:” it’s our commitment at Dubai Customs to follow the wise directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai of making reading a daily practice for government staff in the UAE.
The director of Dubai Customs toured the new Knowledge Club and recommended books in customs, trade and economy be used in the club through coordination with relevant bodies such as the World Customs Organization and the Ministry of Economy.
On her part, DrShaikha Al Ghafiri, acting director of Dubai Customs' Training Centre said that the club will enable Dubai Customs’ staff access different knowledge resources easily. This will help spread a reading culture amongst our staff and will eventually boost performance.
Al Ghafiri pointed out that Dubai Customs Knowledge Club will turn into a digital platform by the end of 2017, and the name will change into “Dubai Customs Smart Knowledge Club”. Employees, then, will use a certain application to access books.
