Msheireb Properties announces successful conclusion of Box Appeal campaign

The Box Appeal campaign, launched by Msheireb Properties in partnership with Qatar Charity, marked a successful conclusion to its month-long donation drive in aid of local construction workers.

Launched on May 1 to coincide with International Workers Day, the Box Appeal invited the public to donate clothing and personal items at collection centres across the country. The initiative reflects Msheireb Properties’ ongoing investment in corporate social responsibility and recognises the tireless contribution of construction workers to the astonishing growth of Qatar’s infrastructure.

“We are delighted with the response to this initiative. Schools, businesses as well as individual members of the public have all got involved, and the substantial quantity of goods collected is a testament to the community spirit that is alive and well in Qatar,” said Jawaher Al Khuzaei, Communication Manager of Msheireb Properties.

“We are very grateful to those who have made donations and delighted with the participation of so many volunteers. We are now hoping to make the Box Appeal an annual campaign.

During the month-long campaign, donation centres were set up at a variety of locations across Doha, including at the head offices of both Qatar Charity and Msheireb Properties, as well as at dedicated kiosks at Qatar Foundation, City Centre, Villagio and Hayat Plaza shopping malls.

Members of the public collected boxes from the centres and returned them filled with clothing and everyday personal items, such as toiletries and grooming products.

Msheireb Properties supports a wide range of social and humanitarian causes promoting sustainability. In addition to the Box Appeal campaign, Msheireb Properties has strengthened its community involvement by launching initiatives such as free IT training for construction workers aimed at promoting skills development, the 'Safety in the Work Place' campaign for workers at the construction site of the flagship Msheireb Downtown Doha development, and Iftar meals for construction workers during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
