UAE Ministry of Finance Holds Workshop on Flag Protocol

In a bid to promote the existing culture of respect towards the UAE flag and foster the national identity, the Youth Council of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) held a workshop on flag protocol at its headquarters in Dubai. The workshop was held in collaboration with ‘Watani’ foundation and Dubai Police Academy.
The workshop was attended by LT. Colonel Abdul Aziz Mohammad Amin Al-Abullah, Director of Student Affairs Department at the Dubai Police Academy, as well as MoF employees across departments. The aim behind the workshop was to introduce employees with the instructions on how to use the UAE flag in different events and national ceremonies.
On this occasion, HE Mariam Mohammed Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Management of Financial Resources, affirmed the precious and prestigious status of the UAE flag, its values and symbol which are instilled in the minds and hearts of UAE citizens and residents. She also highlighted the journey initiated by the founding fathers, and which is led today by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of the UAE.
HE Al Amiri added: “HE Al Amiri added: “The UAE flag is part of our national identity, a symbol of history, civilisation and great pride to Emiratis. It will forever remain raised high as it was on December 2, 1971 as when first raised by the founder of the Nation, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan at Dar Al Ittihad, now known as the Hospitality Palace. We call upon God to preserve the homeland and our flag, and in turn, urge the youth of our nation to continue working towards further progress and prosperity.”
The initiative which is part of the ‘Hama Al Alam’ campaign by Watani Foundation, is currently being held for the fourth consecutive year, and was implemented by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. ‘Hama Al Alam’ initiative offers government entities and private sector specialised workshops on Flag Protocol, in collaboration with the Dubai Police Academy.
