HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received Nam Duk Heo, the new South Korean Consul General in Dubai, as part of an introductory meeting on the occasion of his new position.

Al Tayer welcomed Heo, wishing him success in his new diplomatic mission, and talked about DEWA’s work processes, activities, and on-going progress with providing services, emphasising DEWA’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with South Korean companies, and South Korea as a whole, for mutual benefit.

Al Tayer talked about the importance of exchanging information to help increase the level of efficiency of electricity and water consumption, in addition to benefitting from renewable energy within smart cities, Research and Development (R&D) projects, The Internet of all things, Big Data, and Drones.

The South Korean Consul General commended DEWA’s efforts towards enhancing sustainable development in Dubai, praising the facilities and services that DEWA provides to Korean companies located in Dubai, noting that his visit paves the way for a new level of cooperation with DEWA.

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January, 1992, by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then.
