Khalaf Al Habtoor receives executives from Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research

Khalaf Al Habtoor, Chairman of Al Habtoor, received at his offices on Al Wasel in Dubai today, executives from the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research (DHFMR).
Dr. David E Golan - Dean for Graduate Education Special Advisor for Global Programs Professor of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology Professor of Medicine, Harvard – and Dr Robin Wheatley - Director of Administration for the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research – came to discuss with Al Habtoor the progress of The Khalaf Al Habtoor Harvard Medical Research Fellowship and further possibilities for collaboration with Al Habtoor Group in the future.
The Khalaf Al Habtoor Harvard Medical Research Fellowship was announced last May 2011 at a press conference held at the offices of Al Habtoor Group, and offers a qualified post-doctoral researcher from the UAE or the Middle East region the opportunity to work for up to three years at a research center or laboratory based at Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Public Health or one of the Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals. This fellowship will give the recipient the flexibility to explore fundamental scientific questions that will lead to better understanding of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
The applications have been submitted, reviewed and applicants have been selected by a DHFMR’s Scientific Advisory Committee, whose members are leaders of the Harvard Medical School and Middle East academic research community.
Dr. Golan and Dr. Wheatley discussed with Khalaf Al Habtoor and Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice-Chairman and CEO of Al Habtoor Group, the fellowship recipient and revealed that the winner will be announced in a press conference to be held early next year.
