Jazeera Airways reports February 2014 operational performance

Jazeera Airways released its February 2014 Operational Performance Report today, which shows a continued increase in flown passengers on routes serving Amman, Jeddah, and Alexandria, as well as an increase in flown passengers on the route serving Bahrain. 

Jazeera Airways issues its Operational Performance Report on a monthly and annual basis. The Report is based on official figures and statistics from Kuwait’s Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA). 

The airline continues to lead with a 41% market share on the Kuwait-Amman route for the sixth month in-a-row against three other carriers serving the route. Flown passengers on the route increased by 33% from February 2013. 

On the route serving the Saudi city Jeddah, Jazeera Airways saw a 5% increase in flown passengers from February 2013, and grabbed an 18% market share on the Kuwait-Jeddah route. 

Flown passengers on the Kuwait-Bahrain route increased in February 2014 by 6%. The airline grabbed an 11% market share on the route. 

In the month of February 2014, Jazeera Airways resumed flights to the seasonal destination of Sharm El Sheikh. The airline serves six cities in Egypt. The airline led on routes serving Alexandria with a 21% market share and Luxor with a 63% market share. Flown passengers on the Kuwait-Alexandria route increased by 15% from February 2013. 

The airline also grabbed a 23% market share on the Kuwait-Cairo route, a 39% market share on the Kuwait-Assiut route, and a 37% market share on the Kuwait-Sohag route.  

The February 2014 report also shows that Jazeera Airways grabbed a 38% market share on the Kuwait-Beirut route, a 12% market share on the Kuwait-Dubai route, an 8% market share on the Kuwait-Riyadh route, and was the leading airline serving the Kuwait-Al Najaf route with a 42% market share.
