JAZEERA Airways, the largest airline serving the Middle East out of Kuwait, today announced the start of its four-weekly direct flights to Taif, Saudi Arabia’s number one summer destination located in the Makkah Province.

The inaugural flight, J9801, departed Kuwait International Airport at 4:00 pm (7th June, 2016), landing at Taif Regional Airport at 6:00 pm local time. Passengers departing were met with an airport ceremony attended by Jazeera Airways management who welcomed the passengers at the check-in counters and handed them flowers and discounted vouchers. The return flight, J9802, departed at 7:00 pm from Taif and arrived in Kuwait at 9:00 pm local time.

“Taif is an amazing destination, where our customers can enjoy, rejuvenating their senses while appreciating the beautiful, refreshing scenery,” said Dr. Mohammed Barakat - VP Marketing and Product at Jazeera Airways.

“We are today the only Kuwaiti carrier flying to Taif. This translates our continuous strategy to address our customers’ interest while providing them with our best in-class services on-ground and on-board,” added Dr. Barakat.

The new destination started June 7th and will continue until September 23rd, 2016,with 4 weekly flights from Kuwait to Taif on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

With this new route, Jazeera Airways now extended its network to reach three main cities in the Kingdom including Riyadh, Jeddah and now Taif, with a total of 25 weekly flights,

Nestled in the western part of the country, Taif serves as the cool and green summer capital, where people from all over the Gulf region relish its moderate weather, beautiful scenery and the town’s stress-free atmosphere.

Visitors to Taif are greeted by a fresh breeze as they ascend to the city. Set in a plateau between granite hills rising from the eastern slope of the Hejaz in the southwest region of the Kingdom, this city has become the official summer seat of Saudi Arabians and Gulf travelers.

For centuries, visitors to this mountain city 5,600 feet above sea level have enjoyed the captivating views from wind-sculpted rocks, a pleasant climate and the verdant setting of its surroundings, as well as the abundance of fruits which grow in its fertile valley. Fragrant roses, lush parks, sunny skies and exotic birds and wildlife have for generations drawn families to this resort town each summer. Not only is Taif popular among vacationers, but it has become the most popular holiday resort.

Taif is a contrast of the old and new. There are ultra modern government offices of marble and glass besides the old mud structures with wooden louver windows and carved wooden doors. The plantings of oleander and palms enhance the old and new building. It is noted for its pink palaces and for the astounding modern corniche road that winds down the sheer cliffs of the Taif escarpment to the hot coastal plain.
