Jaguar XE named ‘Best in Class’ large family car at Euro NCAP 2015 awards

After receiving the maximum five-star rating from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) against its highly demanding test protocols, the Jaguar XE sports saloon triumphed at the Euro NCAP’s prestigious Best in Class Cars of 2015 Awards, coming in first in the large family car category. In awarding the Jaguar XE with best-in-class honours, Euro NCAP praised the high levels of active and passive standard safety systems fitted to the XE.

Euro NCAP’s 2015 test protocols brought in the new full-width frontal crash test for the first time,  making it harder than ever to gain a five-star rating. The Jaguar XE’s light, stiff Advanced Aluminium Architecture was fundamental to meeting this challenge, as were the latest advanced driver assistance systems. In addition to securing an excellent result for Adult Occupant protection, the Jaguar XE outscored the competition on pedestrian protection and Safety Assist, thanks to features including the deployable bonnet and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
