Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), the flagship free zone entity of Dubai and trade and logistics hub for the wider Middle East region, hosted a Suhoor get-together for its customers and partners recently at Dubai World Trade Centre to celebrate the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The event, organised in an elegant Emirati setting, was attended by a large number of Jafza customers, partners and senior Jafza management team.

Jafza Suhoor is an annual corporate event organised with an aim to celebrate the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan with its key stake holders in a serene but festive ambience.

Asim Al Abbasi, Chief Financial Officer of EZW group, welcomed the guests. In his welcome note he talked about the intrinsic value of sharing, generosity and togetherness that the Holy Month of Ramadan stands for and the special significance of enjoying the feeling of kinship in a corporate gathering like Jafza Suhoor. He also talked about various initiatives that Jafza, in collaboration with its customers and partners, have taken during not only in the Holy month of Ramadan but beyond – across the year.

He said: “The Holy Month of Ramadan embodies the spirit of sharing, generosity and togetherness among others. Getting to know each other and spend some time together with friends is at the heart of all Ramadan festivities. We are very happy to celebrate Ramadan today with you - our customers and partners - who are key to our remarkable success and growth. Your support and contribution has played a key role in the successful implementation of our CSR initiatives.”

Besides direct community welfare projects Jafza also supports various government and private charitable activities. In 2014 Jafza donated more than AED 7.2 million to various social welfare initiatives such as Water Aid Project, Dubai Cares, Dubai Club for the Disabled and Clean up Arabia campaigns, as well as to Charity Auction in aid of Syrian Refugees. Last month’s Jafza Workers Day event in the free zone, organised in collaboration with its customers and partners brought a myriad of smiles and freshness in the life of workers living in Jafza accommodation.

Jafza Suhoor included a number of cultural activities such as Arabic Calligraphy, henna among many other traditional crafts which highlighted the UAE’s rich heritage. Suhoor also included a nice photo exhibition depicting Dubai’s incredible evolution from a small trading centre to one of the world’s finest metropolis. Jafza organised these cultural activities and photo exhibition in collaboration with Dubai Culture.
