Huawei reaches further into KSA enterprise market

Welcoming leaders from across the Kingdom’s business and political landscape, Huawei—a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider—has recently concluded a nationwide tour in which senior executives and technical experts spotlighted sectors of the Saudi economy most likely to benefit from recent advancements in ICT solutions over the coming years.
Hosting forums in the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar, the tour was led by management from Huawei’s Enterprise Business group including Mr. Shixiaohua, Director of Huawei’s Saudi Enterprise Business, Mr. Weijidong, GM of Huawei Jeddah, and Mr. Kevin Zhang, GM of Huawei Dammam. Noting large investments planned for Saudi Arabia’s ICT sector, the company presented strategies to support the application of new enterprise technologies in the oil & gas, transportation, healthcare, education, and banking & finance industries.
Research firm IDC has predicted that IT investments in the region will reach up to $32 billion in 2013 alone, with one of the largest markets being Saudi Arabia.
“The continued advancement of the digital society within KSA is giving organizations greater visibility into their market segment and their customers, in addition to mobility of information,” notes Mr. Shixiaohua, Director of Huawei Saudi Enterprise Business. “While the business benefits are compelling, it will be important to ensure that emerging trends adopted can safeguard an organization’s critical assets. The ‘Big Data’ trend has raised concern among businesses to further understand the competitive advantage brought in by making sense of vast amounts of unstructured data. Huawei’s expertise enables businesses to remain competitive through making businesses more agile. Our Big Data solutions are able to capture, preserve, store, analyze and virtualize huge chunks of data that will ultimately help make more informed business decisions ahead of the competition.”
As part of the latest Huawei forums, participants were invited to a diversity of keynotes hosted by top technical experts linking concepts such as smart campus networks, safe cities and cloud-based data centers. Additional sessions were also set to focus on broader technology innovations within Huawei’s enterprise networking, unified communications, and enterprise IT portfolio.
Over the last few years Huawei has evolved its own business offerings to establish itself as a pioneer in the enterprise ICT space and one of the fastest growing vendors in the Middle East. Today the company has three main offices in Saudi Arabia in addition to 20 technical assistance centers employing more than 900 employees—of which more than 70 per cent are recruited locally.
Huawei has also been steadily increasing its presence in the enterprise ICT market through new technology deployments as well as industry conferences dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by local IT decision makers. This has recently included participation in the 4th Annual Kingdom E-Government Summit and the successful conclusion of its own Saudi Arabia Core Partners Convention this summer in Riyadh. Earlier this year Huawei was bestowed a special honor by King Saud University for the company’s exceptional contribution to the development of the Saudi ICT sector.
