Hilton hotels in Egypt carried out a series of events over the course of the Careers@Hilton Week to mine the untapped potential of ambitious job seekers in the hospitality industry.

Marking its largest global career event, Hilton hotels in Egypt carried out a series of events over the course of the Careers@Hilton Week to mine the untapped potential of ambitious job seekers in the hospitality industry. Hilton hotels have embarked on a series of seminars, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training workshops aiming to showcase the diverse job opportunities within the hospitality industry. As one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing hospitality companies, Hilton continues to take the lead in pursuing more inclusive hiring practices. 

“Careers@Hilton Week is an expression of Hilton’s vision to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality and supports our Open Doors commitment to impact one million young people around the world,” said Mohab Ghali, vice president of operations, Egypt and North Africa, Hilton. “Every year, we encourage all of our hotels across Egypt to participate by hosting an activity that will educate and prepare local youth and other job seekers for careers in hospitality. This year, we have expanded the pool of targeted job seekers to better support women, people with special needs, vocational school students and graduates in line with our commitment to creating a diversified workplace.”

This year, a total of nine Hilton hotels participated at the Careers@Hilton Week with diversified activities:

  • Conrad Cairo shared a booth with Hilton Egypt head office at the AUC Career Fair showcasing Hilton’s career and development plans and special programs for the students.
  • Hilton Alexandria Corniche extended support to youth with hearing impairment by providing a full hotel training apprenticeship, along with providing sign language instructors who aided the hotel’s team members to easily communicate with the trainees.  The hotel has also offered apprenticeship opportunity for Pharos University, Egoth institute for Hotel and Tourism, and Mubarak Cool Technical School students.
  • Hilton Cairo World Trade Center Residences arranged for a full-day training for approximately 25 students from El Orman School who will support with operations for 1-3 weeks for a hands-on training experience.
  • Hilton Cairo Zamalek Residences teamed up with The Education For Employment Foundation to provide six-month training programs for young female engineering graduates to be potentially hired by the hotel in the engineering department.  
  • Hilton Hurghada Resort cooperated with the Hurghada Youth Association to host 10 female students for an orientation session by the F&B Assistant Manager followed by a tour and presentation by the Front Desk Manager to educate them about the operations within the hospitality sector.  
  • Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa organized a full-day workshop for 18 university students giving them special insights about hospitality and hotel industry.
  • Hilton Pyramids Golf invited 40 female students from Al Orman Schools for Tourism and Hotels to visit the hotel and explore career and development opportunities within the hospitality industry. The hotel also invited students from the Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotels in 6th of October City to take a tour at the housekeeping department as well as 29 students from different universities and institutes to be trained across the different departments at the hotel.
  • Ramses Hilton aimed to train the biggest number of youth at Ramses Hilton School of Hospitality. The hotel hosted a job Fair at Al Orman Hospitality School looking for potential calibers. In addition, the hotel team took part in the job fair hosted by Hilton Egypt office at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport providing special development programs and internship opportunities. Ramses Hilton also organized a special job fair targeting AUC students and hosted select AUCians for one day as part of the shadowing program to get hands-on experience across various departments.
