Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) has announced new need-based scholarships for its Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service degree, which will be available for the Class of 2022. In order to give interested students time to learn about and apply for the new scholarship, GU-Q has extended its application deadline to March 1, 2018.

The new scholarship will meet the full financial needs of students whose families cannot afford to pay all the costs for tuition, housing, and other expenses. Families will be required to contribute to the greatest extent possible according to their financial ability, and GU-Q will ensure the remaining need is met.

“Georgetown University in Qatar is committed to doing everything possible to provide a world-class education for our students,” said Director of Admissions Joseph Hernandez. “We have already received over 400 applications for Fall 2018, and hope that these new scholarships will ensure that no talented applicants will miss out on a Georgetown degree because of their financial status.”

To apply for the scholarships, students are required to submit a completed College Scholarship Service (CSS) profile through The College Board. After a review of the necessary financial documentation, Georgetown will determine the family contribution amount and provide a scholarship to cover the remaining costs.
