The Galleries beefs up food venues with giant Subway restaurant

Subway restaurant is now open at The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali, adding more food and beverage options to Dubai’s newest business hub and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Subway restaurant at The Galleries – the largest in the Jebel Ali area and one of the biggest in Dubai – occupies 1,500 sq ft and has a mezzanine floor overlooking the development’s landscaped plaza. More than 2,000 people now work at The Galleries’ A-grade office towers: tenants include Siemens, L’Oreal, Ericsson, Arup, China National Petroleum Company and Kraft Foods, with more moving in shortly.
Open daily from 8am to 10pm, Subway joins a number of other eateries at The Galleries, including Dubai’s largest Oregano outlet, which spans 3,550 sq ft and has its own outdoor terrace. The Galleries is also home to a Bakeria/Café Arabicca and a recently-opened Click restaurant.
Bahaa Abouhatab, Project Director at The Galleries, said: “We are delighted to add another household name to our growing business and retail community. Our food outlets not only serve our onsite tenants, but are also a convenient stop for people calling into The Galleries to visit the banks here, or for hungry motorists on journeys between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. And, with the cooler weather approaching, diners will soon be able to eat outdoors among the gardens and greenery of our shaded landscaped plaza.”
Mohamed Eldarrat, Managing Director and Partner of Wilshire Foods, added: “With its expanding number of commercial tenants and daily visitors, The Galleries is a natural choice for Subway. We are delighted to open up here to serve this new, thriving business hub and the wider communities of New Dubai.”
The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali is less than an hour by car from Abu Dhabi and is directly accessed from Sheikh Zayed Road direct road or via its own Metro station. Retailers include Fresh Plus convenience store, Diamond Lease, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank and Blom Bank France, with HSBC and others opening soon.
