Find your dream job at Qatar Foundation through Qatar Career Fair

From small beginnings, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has blossomed into a world-class organisation, filled with a wide as sortment of job opportunities. QF will showcase some of its career paths, as well as its Qatari employees,at the upcoming fifth Annual Qatar Career Fair (QCF), running from April 1st-5th, 2012.
The Qatar Career Fair is for everyone, and even those currently in employment attend to see if there is a chance for career development. “It’s like a convention for Qatari companies in one place, it has all the important organisations, establishments and government institutes, and you can go to all of the booths that have current employees standing there, ready and eager to talk to you,” said Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al-Heidous, a Qatari graduate trainee in Strategy and Business Planning in QF’s Human Resources (HR) Directorate. Abdulaziz will be present at QF’s booth at the QCF.
QF believes the key to a sustainable future is investing in human capital. Equipping its staff with the tools and skills necessary for career success is a top priority. And now, with its highly trained workforce, QF is in full throttle on its mission to help transform the nation to a knowledge economy.
Abdulaziz is an example of QF’s ambition to invest in its personnel. Currently in his second year of employment, he is part of a be spoke training program that will prepare him to advance to the position of an Organisation Design Analyst.
As a graduate of the Omar Al Khattab Scientific Secondary School in Doha, Abdulaziz completed one year at QF’s Academic Bridge Program to prepare for enrollment in English speaking universities abroad. Finishing his studies at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City in the U.S., he immediately applied for a job at QF.
“Qatar Foundation was my first choice. It’s so diverse and there are a wide range of opportunities for people with all kinds of background and interests,” said Abdulaziz.
“Working here has made me aware of how different the jobs are at QF, ranging from a volunteering officer in Reach Out To Asia, to a clarinet player in the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, to a scientist at Qatar Science & Technology Park. You don’t get this anywhere else in the world,” explained Abdulaziz.
QF is home to renowned universities, centers and joint ventures of widely varied operations, and the HR Directorate is committed to improving staff experiences to sustain long term employment.
“Let’s look at the achievements that we have here, gathering these top rated universities together in one place. This is a huge success and I wanted to be a part of it,” said Abdulaziz, who is thriving in his training program and looking forward to further developing his career in the HR Directorate.
“All of my co-workers are friendly and their doors are always open. There aren’t any barriers,” he continued. “And I am more passionate in my work because of the unique experience I am having at QF. In other companies you just take the salary, but we at QF give something much more important to the community. Money ends but building knowledge doesn’t. Knowledge, for me, is more important than money.”
Central to QF’s philosophy of unlocking the human potential of its staff, securing a job at one of its centers will ensure that an individual’s career success is also supporting QF’s mission to help Qatar move away from a carbon dependency.
