Fill the Eton Bag for a Good Cause

While it’s always a good time to give back to the community, the year end is a great occasion to make that extra effort to reach out to those who need our help. This is the message communicated by Eton Institute, the UAE’s largest language training institute, as it launches the “Fill the Eton Bag” campaign to collect much needed items for the wish list of underprivileged individuals. The institute will be distributing bags for the public to fill with books, toys, sports shoes and personal and childcare items which will be donated to the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), Dubai Centre for Special Needs (DCSN) and Adopt a Laborer.
Moaz Khan, Marketing Manager at Eton Institute commented: “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the very core of what Eton Institute stands for and the ‘Fill the Eton Bag’ initiative is our chance to give back to the community. We actively work with these non-profit organisations and have witnessed the great work they do in the community. With the public help, we want to continue support these organisations and make a genuine difference in people’s lives.”
He added, “While it may be a small gesture to donate your unused household items or books, but it can mean the world to someone who truly needs it. What better way to end the year and kick-start 2012!”
The Dubai Centre for Special Needs, which provides support for differently-abled individuals from the ages of 3 to 27 years, is looking for toys and books in good condition for its learning centre.
The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, a charity in the UAE which supports and provides shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence, child abuse and human trafficking, has a wish list including new childcare items such as clothes, bottles, diapers, wipes, walkers, festive candy and more for the children. The organisation will also be accepting personal and household items, for the women, such as new utensils, bed covers and toiletries.
Other items required are sports shoes and sports clothing in new or good condition for the Adopt a Laborer-Smart Life organisation.
To donate gifts simply collect your Eton Bag from the reception at Eton Institute, Block 3, Dubai Knowledge Village, and fill it with one or more of the items listed above.
