ENOC announces its support to Dubai Club for the Disabled’s IPC 2014 Powerlifting World Championship

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has announced its year-round support to the IPC 2014 Powerlifting World Championship organised by the Dubai Club for the Disabled with the support of Dubai Sports Council, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
A part of ENOC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the support to the Fazza Championships flags off with a key sponsorship of the IPC 2014 Powerlifting World Championship to be held from April 5 to 11, 2014.This is the third consecutive year that ENOC is extending its support to the Fazza events organised by the Dubai Club for the Disabled.
Saif Al Falasi, Executive Director of EHSQ & Corporate Affairs at ENOC, said: “Our continued support to the various activities organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed highlights our commitment to reach out to special needs individuals and encourage them to showcase their true potential.

Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Fazza Championships and CEO of the Dubai Club for the Disabled, said: “The various championships that we organise further establish Dubai as a global centre for hosting world-class sports events. The special needs individuals, who participate in our events, coming from all over the world, have proven their mettle and talent. We are thankful to ENOC for their support to our championships, and we are confident it will encourage more organisations to extend their sponsorship to our activities.”
The IPC 2014 Powerlifting World Championship, which is organised under the auspices of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), represents the most prominent gathering for weightlifters after the Paralympics games held in London 2012. The Championship is considered as the qualifying round for the Paralympics tournament to be held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2016.
CSR is a core purpose and value at ENOC, with the organisation winning Asia’s top laurel for 'Best Corporate Social Responsibility Practice' at the Asian Leadership Awards, which honours super achievers in the continent.
