Second cycle of 7th ENOC Challenge professional training for students from Rashid Centre for the Disabled commences

Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has commenced the vocational training programme for six students from the Rashid Centre for the Disabled, as part of the second cycle of the seventh edition of the ENOC Challenge Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
In all, 10 students from Rashid Centre for the Disabled are provided extensive training at various departments of the organisation through the ENOC Challenge. The first cycle of the initiative trained four students, who have successfully completed their programme.
Over a period of two months, the students will train at ENOC’s EHSQ Clinic, Administration Services & Facilities, EPPCO Lubes, ENOC Marketing, and Brand & Corporate Communications Management, thus instilling strong workplace skills that enable their personal and professional growth.
ENOC Challenge, organised in association with Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) and Rashid Centre for the Disabled, has already trained over 130 candidates, including special needs and financially underprivileged individuals, to prepare them for professional careers.
Noaman Al Saleh, PR & CSR Manager of ENOC, said: “ENOC Challenge is our flagship CSR initiative, which underlines our commitment to support all segments of the society. By providing extensive workplace training for the students from Rashid Centre for the Disabled, we are focused on building their professional skills, which will enable them to pursue rewarding careers.
“The CSR initiative also supports the 7-year National Agenda announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to promote education and job creation in the UAE. The success of the programme over the years serves as a model for other organisations in driving CSR initiatives that make a difference to our community.”
Maryam Othman, Director of Rashid Centre for the Disabled, said: “One of the key drivers for our students in securing jobs is the professional skills they gain by working hands-on with other organisations, which serves the centre’s aim of our students’ social integration. ENOC has set an industry model, whereby they enable our students to gain professional skills that are of tremendous value in pursuing rewarding careers. ENOC Challenge also promotes the spirit of social solidarity, one of the strategic goals of the Dubai Government.”
The students who take part in ENOC Challenge are first evaluated for their skills and assigned job training based on their abilities. They are assigned individual mentors, who guide them through the different workplace tasks and work in groups, thus building the ethos of teamwork and solidarity. The courses include work ethics, customer service, preparing CVs and job interview training.
CSR is a core purpose and value at ENOC, with the organisation winning Asia’s top laurel for 'Best Corporate Social Responsibility Practice' at the Asian Leadership Awards, which honours super achievers in the continent.
