Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, recently hosted its second Bon Appétit Experiences event at “Options” Restaurant in Dubai, where about 200 Emirates NBD cardholders had the opportunity to be a part of an exclusive culinary experience with Indian Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor.

Launched in partnership with BBC Good Food ME, the special culinary initiative enables Emirates NBD’s premium cardholders to meet award winning chefs and learn exclusive cooking techniques in a fun and informative format.

“At Emirates NBD, we constantly strive to add value to the range of products and services we offer, in order to enrich the experience of our customers with us,” said R. Sivaram, Senior Vice President and Cards Business Head, Emirates NBD. “Bon Appétit Experiences is a flagship culinary initiative that serves as a platform for our customers to have exclusive opportunities to meet and interact with world-class chefs and learn the techniques of their intricate cooking techniques”.

‘Bon Appétit Experiences’ is an extension of the ‘Bon Appétit’ programme that was launched last year by Emirates NBD, and enabled cardholders to enjoy exclusive discounts at about 600 restaurants in the UAE, through using an Emirates NBD credit or debit card.

“I am very delighted to be part of Emirates NBD’s initiative which I truly believe is a win-win experience for everyone taking part in it,” Kapoor said. “It does not only allow people to interact live with international chefs, but also offers them a chance to spend good time at a nice place while enjoying good food.”

Celebrity Indian chef, entrepreneur, TV host, restaurant consultant and author of several cookery books, Sanjeev Kapoor is perhaps the most celebrated face in the Indian food industry. Having successfully hosted one of the longest running cookery shows on television, he launched “FoodFood,” a High Definition TV channel dedicated to food in January 2011. He is also the recipient of the Best Executive Chef of India Award by H & FS and the Mercury Gold Award at Geneva, Switzerland by IFCA, while Singapore Airlines recruited him as one of the members of its "International Culinary Panel."

Background Information

Emirates NBD

Emirates NBD, the leading banking group in the region, was formed on 19 June 1963, when H.H. Late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum signed the Charter of Incorporation of the National Bank of Dubai (NBD) which became the first National Bank established in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With the blessings of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, NBD merged with Emirates Bank International (EBI) on 06 March 2007, to form Emirates NBD, the largest banking group in the region by assets. On 16 October 2007, the shares of Emirates NBD were officially listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM). The merger between EBI and NBD to create Emirates NBD, became a regional consolidation blueprint for the banking and finance sector as it combined the second and fourth largest banks in the UAE to form a banking champion capable of delivering enhanced value across corporate, retail, private, Islamic and investment banking throughout the region.
