Emirates Gas is ‘Young Minds Partner’ of Pragyan inter-school quiz contest in Dubai

Emirates Gas LLC (EMGAS), a subsidiary of the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), extended its support as the ‘Young Minds Partner’ of the Pragyan inter-school quiz contest, organised by the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT, Trichy), a leading Indian engineering institute at the Etisalat Academy recently. 

Providing school students in the UAE an equal opportunity to participate with an internationally renowned technical institution, the inter-school quiz featured contestants from over 40 schools in the UAE, bringing together 150 participants joining with a fraternity of more than 10,000 students who are expected to be part of ‘Pragyan’ 2014. The quiz is part of the global Tech Fest programme of NIT Trichy, with questions set by the students themselves. 

Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director – ENOC Gas Marketing, Head of International Business Development and General Manager of Emirates Gas LLC said: “Our support to the inter-school quiz contest organised by NIT Trichy was part of our corporate social responsibility commitment to support the youth and encourage them to further strengthen their knowledge and skills through their participation in international events. With students from all over the UAE attending the quiz contest, the event served as a key platform for us to strengthen our community outreach.” 

Pragyan is an initiative by NIT Trichy to promote technical skills and innovation among youth. The inter-school quiz is part of several activities undertaken to further reach out to the global student community, and provide them the opportunity to interact and compete on an international forum.

EMGAS regularly undertakes CSR initiatives that strengthen its engagement with various sections of the community. It has received the CSR Label Award, presented for distinguished corporate social responsibility initiatives by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the third consecutive year.
