EMGAS marks Ramadan charity campaign with Dar Al Ber Society

Emirates Gas LLC (EMGAS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), is marking the values of charity and solidarity during the Holy Month of Ramadan by partnering with the Dar Al Ber Society to provide LPG refill vouchers for disadvantaged families. 

Now, a Ramadan tradition at EMGAS, highlighting its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the domestic LPG refills will be provided to disadvantaged families that are registered with the Dar Al Ber Society. 

The refills will be provided from the first date of Ramadan through December 31, 2014, to families in Dubai, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. The campaign is held under the theme, ‘Let us all unite and celebrate the longest Ramadan fast together.’ The campaign is expected to benefit more than 300 underprivileged families. 

Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director – ENOC Gas Marketing and Head of International Business Development & General Manager – Emirates Gas LLC, said: “We are thankful to the Dar Al Ber Society for their support to our CSR campaign that highlights the spirit of compassion and generosity during the Holy Month of Ramadan. As a community-oriented organisation, we constantly seek ways to support the people in need, and make a meaningful difference to their lives. 

“For the past four years, we have been distributing free LPG refills to underprivileged families and the joy it brings to them makes our effort truly worthwhile. The initiative promotes social integration and unity in line with the vision of our nation’s leadership.” 

EMGAS will also promote awareness on safe handling of LPG cylinders as part of the campaign. Banners providing safety tips relating to the handling and use of LPG cylinders will be displayed at the Ramadan tents of Dar Al Ber Society.

Volunteers from the Society will conduct a door-to-door campaign to selected households in Ajman and Umm Al Quwain to provide them with the campaign’s gift vouchers along with the LPG cylinder safety tips leaflet. ENOC will also utilise its retail network of service stations to distribute the LPG Cylinder Safety Leaflets to the motorists as part of EMGAS’ Public Safety Campaign ‘Safe Cylinder, Safe Family’. 

EMGAS recently won the CSR Label Award from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Dubai Chamber) for the fourth consecutive year.
