Emaar Retail marks World Down Syndrome Day 2013

Emaar Retail LLC, the premium leisure and entertainment provider, highlighted its support to World Down Syndrome Day 2013, by participating in a Walkathon, organised in Downtown Dubai. Emaar Retail also focused on further raising awareness on the genetic disorder through various initiatives held across its world-class leisure assets. 

Representatives of KidZania®, the award-winning children’s edutainment centre, and Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, one of the largest and most diverse indoor aquariums in the world, took part in the Walkathon. The participants wore scarves and badges provided by the UAE Down Syndrome Association (UAEDSA). 

Dubai Ice Rink, the Olympic-sized ice-skating and events venue and SEGA Republic, the largest of its kind indoor theme park attraction in the Middle East, both located in The Dubai Mall, took part in the initiative to raise awareness on the genetic disorder in Dubai’s communities, by promoting the UAEDSA cause in the attractions.

UAEDSA was founded in 2006 and aims to provide better quality of life and support to those who are suffering from Down syndrome.
