Dubai Chamber to celebrate innovation in the closing ceremony of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award

Celebrating the concepts of innovation and creativity during the closing ceremony of the 8th cycle of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is all set to host world-renowned American innovation speaker Nicholas J. Webb who will share his insights on innovation and its applications in the business world at Madinat Jumeirah on Wednesday, May 27.

With its emphasis on innovation in line with this year’s UAE Year of Innovation, the 8th cycle of the annual award is encouraging the private sector to adopt best excellence and innovation standards in institutional performance.

Nicholas will be talking about the range of innovation and key elements that drive innovation success besides presenting models and case studies that can be used by innovators to improve their business performance.

As an innovator, Nicholas has been awarded over 40 patents by the US patent and trademark office for the world’s smallest medical implants and a range of state-of-the-art wearable technologies. A Senior Partner at Lassen Innovation, a US-based Management Consulting Firm, he speaks around the world on the future of the economy, innovation, technology, leadership and healthcare.

Nicholas is also author of The Innovation Playbook, The Digital Innovation Playbook, Invent Stuff and the just-released leadership book, Breakers. 

The Award ceremony will also mark the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Performance Program’s expansion across the GCC countries by honouring organisations that participated in the year-long 8th cycle of the program and outperformed their peers across the region in business excellence.

Held annually under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the prestigious award’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Performance Program encourages companies to adopt global best practices and improve their performance while allowing them to obtain an organisational learning experience through self-assessment. The award is the winner of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme for the ‘Best Administrative Initiative’ in 2007.
