Dubai Cares calls for accelerated cohesive efforts to achieve universal primary education

Dubai Cares has joined a global appeal to the world’s leading philanthropists, government representatives, public and private sectors, and international aid and development agencies, calling for stronger and deeper collaborations to ensure that every child in the world has access to quality primary education. This appeal was made at a High Level Strategy Meeting hosted by H.H. Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser in Doha – Qatar and supported by Gordon Brown, the United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education.

Speaking in her capacity as Chairperson of Dubai Cares, H.E. Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State said, “We welcome and value bringing such high-level meetings to the region as we believe in the necessity to highlight and address the education crisis in all parts of the world. We commend ‘Educate a Child’ on their event and look forward to exploring opportunities for collaboration and partnership as we join efforts in support of the UN Secretary General’s Global Education First Initiative.”

The High Level Strategy Meeting aimed at encouraging participants to share their knowledge, experiences and achievements in reaching primary school age children that are not in school; and raising awareness of the need to accelerate action and progress in ensuring that out-of-school children become enrolled, remain consistently engaged in, and are retained within primary education.
