Downtown Rotana hosts movie night by the pool for Al Kawther Youngsters

Staying committed to its partnership with the Al Kawther Society, and its focus on engaging with the orphaned youth through a series of educational and entertaintainment activities, Downtown Rotana, the luxury hotel located in the heart of Manama, hosted an outdoor movie night by the hotel’s pool for around twenty children from the Society aged between ten to fourteen.

The hotel’s new General Manager, Mr. Patrice Cornee as well as the Downtown Rotana staff, welcomed the children to a fun-filled night with the smell of freshly popped popcorn, cotton candy, hotdogs, chips and refreshments. The highlight of the night to the pure enjoyment of the children, was the screening of one of the newest blockbuster animation movies, which the children watched from a specially created outdoor seating area by the hotel’s poolside.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Patrice Cornee, the new General Manager of Downtown Rotana said: “Today’s activity was purely for entertainment purposes and we are happy that the children, as well as the adults, had such a great time, especially with the great weather we were fortunate to have. Our pool area is the perfect setting for such an activity. It was an evening of fun, and we wanted to give a twist to the traditional movie night out. Our focus from the start has been to offer Downtown Rotana as a venue for the Al Kawther children to learn and enjoy through exciting activities, and we have stayed true to this promise thanks to the cooperation of the Society and the enthusiasm of the children to come back.”

Downtown Rotana has established a long-term engagement plan with the Al-Kawther youngsters and has embarked on a series of educational and fun activities including Ramadan Iftar followed by Gargaoun celebrations, healthy cooking sessions and movie nights.
