As we hand over more and more personal information to our phones, keeping our information secure becomes ever more important, since a moment of carelessness could result in the leakage of sensitive data. Frequent photo-sharing on social media may mean that a stranger could know your routine activities. Or after searching for a certain product online, you may receive precisely-targeted advertisements, some of which you may find very unwelcome or intrusive. No intrusions: uninterrupted screen sharing and browsing experience

The worst is when you accidentally click on an ad just as it appears, derailing your whole browsing experience. By allowing you to block certain kinds of browser ads, the Ad Filtering feature in EMUI 11 provides a more comfortable browsing environment.

No tracking: You are in total control of your personal data

In EMUI 11, HUAWEI Share has a new feature that allows you to remove sensitive information (such as time and location information) before sharing a photo. In this way, you can share the best moments in your life without revealing anything you don't want to.

What's more, EMUI 11 further enhances app access control and monitoring. It is common for apps to ask for more permissions than needed, demanding access to your cameras, photos, microphone, and contacts, giving them access to sensitive information. 

However, with EMUI 11, you can rest easy. When an app asks for permissions, you will find that the "ALWAYS ALLOW" option is replaced by "ALLOW THIS TIME ONLY", effectively countering the problem of permissions overreach.

EMUI 11 also allows you to disable personalized ads to deal with the problem of unwanted targeted advertising. If you enable this function, advertisers will not be able to obtain your ad identifier and thus will be unable to push precisely targeted ads to you. Alternatively, you can choose to reset your Ad-ID, which effectively allows you to restart your relationship with advertisers with a clean slate.

No disclosure: rest assured that your privacy is maintained

While the EMUI 11 designers have clearly put a lot of thought into hi-tech cyber security, they've also acknowledged that some information leaks still happen the old fashioned way — someone reading a message over your shoulder when you're in an elevator, for example. Here is where the AI Information Protection function of EMUI 11 comes in. You can set up the phone so that it will display message details only when it detects that only you are looking at it. Otherwise, message details are automatically hidden to protect your privacy.

With a new feature in EMUI 11, you can blur the background in a video call to protect your privacy. Also, using MeeTime, you can send a sealed message that the person on the other end can't screenshot, so what happens in MeeTime, stays in MeeTime.

Another important function for privacy protection from EMUI 11 is Note Lock. With this, you can safely store accounts and passwords of your bank cards, social platforms, emails, and tools in Notepad. No need to worry about privacy leakage from Notepad or potential financial loss coming after it.
